There is a macro and a micro approach to helping people via psychology. The macro would be the research approach. This approach is not as hands on, but can lead to discoveries that can benefit larger numbers on a mass scale. The micro would be that of clinical psychology which allows a practitioner to help people on a group or one on one basis. Neither of these aims are mutually exclusive, but one is more hands on and there other is not as much. Both types are still compiled of psychologists that have dedicated their lives to the field of psychology in order to help humankind understand more about what goes on inside our minds. Michael Civin is just such a professional. He is a practicing clinical psychologist in the New York/Bronx area. He has earned two Master’s degrees. The first from the University of Oregon in the arts and the second from Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University in the study of clinical psychology.
